Premier Equine Full Leather Universal Fixed Ring with Straight Bar

Suitable for horses that:

• Are strong and unsteady in the contact at the same time

• Run long and stiff as the pace increases

• Need a predictable response at speed

• Will not take a metal mouthpiece

How it works

Mouthpiece. An unjointed bar at 18mm, the widest bearing surface in the range. With no joint there is nothing to close on the bars, nothing to rise towards the palate and nothing to pinch at the lips, and rein pressure is spread across the full width of the tongue. A stainless steel wire core runs through the whole length, so under contact the bar takes a shallow curve and follows the shape of the tongue.

Cheek piece. The same two rein positions as the Universal, with the centre ring fixed to the mouthpiece. Nothing slides, so the leverage arrives at full effect as soon as the rein is taken and the bit cannot move across the mouth. With the rein on the centre ring it works as a fixed cheek snaffle; on the lower loop poll pressure is introduced and the mouthpiece rotates back onto the tongue and bars. The wider rein loop allows the rein to find its own angle.
