Titanium makes the McHardy lighter as well as making it available to horses that have a sensitivity to metal. A horse shaking its head when bit pressure is applied or trying to put its tongue over the bit are classic signs the horse has a sensitive tongue. With this in mind the McHardy was created, it has a medium port creating space for the tongue, relieving pressure. The roller in the middle increases bar pressure and as a result extends the head and brings the nose in giving more control.
The Williams cheekpiece allows for multiple rein positions. If connected to the main ring the bit acts as a loose ring, but when connected to the bottom ring it promotes pole flexion by creating more positive poll pressure. The Williams cheekpiece helps to prevent drifting.

After an excellent bit fitting, I decided to buy one of these. My horse used to lean on the bit, but in this bit he is very responsive and respectful of the bit. I’m very happy. Also at XC training I had much more control when he got excited!
