How the Bombers Ultra Comfy Lock-Up Bit Works

The Bombers Ultra Comfy Lock-Up is designed to give your horse clear communication while maximising comfort. Unlike a traditional single-jointed bit that forms a “nutcracker” action, the Ultra Comfy Lock-Up has a unique internal locking system. When the reins are taken up, the joint locks into a straight, stable position—preventing pinching of the tongue or bars and eliminating any sharp collapses.

This creates a more even pressure across the mouth, encouraging your horse to soften, relax, and confidently take contact. It’s particularly helpful for sensitive horses, those inclined to evade the bit, or horses who prefer a steady, predictable feel. When the rein pressure is released, the mouthpiece returns to its natural, flexible shape to keep your horse comfortable and at ease.

The Loose Ring allows for immediate release and relief from tongue and bar pressure. The bit is immediately reset to a neutral position in the horse's mouth.
