The Ported Barrel was created to relieve pressure on the tongue via the medium port, which creates space for the tongue. The Barrel joint relieves pressure on the bars by spreading it over a larger area and limiting the nut cracker action of a conventional snaffle.

The Fulmer / full cheek cheekpiece creates stability in much the same way as the traditional Eggbutt and will prevent pinching on the sides of the mouth.  It also helps with directional control and prevents the bit being pulled through the mouth. It is great for guiding the horses head - ideal for schooling and training purposes.
