Bombers Drop Cheek Lite (Baucher / Hanging cheek) happy tongue

Bomber Drop Cheek Lite Happy Tongue - Brand new! (This bit does NOT have any swivel action)

The Drop Cheek has an Eggbutt like ring at the mouthpiece for the rein, with an upper cheek that has a ring at its end, to which the cheek piece of the bridle is attached. The mouthpiece does not slide on its ring resulting in light poll pressure. The cheek pieces lie flat against the horse’s face, and the mouthpiece is quite fixed in the mouth and concentrates pressure on the bars. The Drop Cheek Lite has been designed to accommodate  horses that have a short mouth, often have prominent molars lower down, many cheek pieces will rub the cheeks over the molars.  The Drop Cheek lite has the mouth piece positioned higher on the cheek piece, allowing the top ring to sit further down.  The top ring is also able to be bent out more than standard to accommodate the molars.

The Happy Tongue would be a good place to start if your horse is:

Shaking its head

Sticking its tongue out

Sucking its tongue back and as a result making an intermittent coughing noise

Trying to put its tongue over the bit

Going behind the bit to avoid the contact

Snatching the reins forward and down

The rider will know immediately if this is the correct bit, as a horse with a sensitive tongue will finally begin to work into, and accept the contact. Changing the cheekpieces would then allow the rider to adjust the level of control
