The 2.5 Ring cheek piece introduces poll pressure as well creating leverage on the mouthpiece.  The 2.5 Ring version is the softest version of ring bit as the ½ ring softens the leverage on the mouthpiece and poll.

The Ultra Comfy Lock Up has been designed to suit very sensitive mouthed horses. The centre joint has been double locked to ensure that the angle over the tongue remains correct, even when the reins are taken up, but it retains the individual lateral aids. The Ultra comfy has a generous curve, to follow the shape and contour of the horse’s mouth. We have found that the need for softer and softer bits has been growing, as breeding has been producing finer and more sensitive horses.

This bit comes with a back strap.  When using the back strap this should be introduced loosely and then tightened one hole at a time.  The strap tightened will increases the leverage and the reaction will be quicker (therefore sharper) on the horse’s mouth/poll
